Dressing Your Home For the Summer Property Market

By Sophie Gates – HSA

With the uncertainty of Brexit looming across the UK, it has become much harder to predict the future of the British property market. Recent projections have struggled to draw parallel trends with even steeper predictions in the case of a no-deal Brexit, such as the Bank of England estimating that property prices could decrease up to 35% in this particular case. So, what can homeowners do to stay afloat and secure more offers during this time of uncertainty? The answer is staging.

Home Staging Summer Trends

With Summer upon us, there are a multitude of different ways that homeowners can stage their home to bring a new lease of life to a property and match the spirit of summer under the impending Brexit negotiations.

A Pop of Colour

Many homeowners often fear a bold change when it comes to décor, but that doesn’t need to be the case. Neutral tones are a great way to keep an element of warmth and comfort within a room and adding a pop of colour, whether that being through wall paint, furniture or flooring, can really add a vibrant flair to a space – a simple yet effective change, perfect for the summer months. From primrose yellow tiling to a terracotta armchair, the possibilities are endless and will undoubtedly add a unique touch to a property when on the market.

Metallics

Luxurious finishes are a staple choice when staging a property in the current competitive climate. Gold, silver and copper adornments are a great way to add some opulence to a property, whilst also reflecting light, which is an ideal choice when staging for the summer property market.

Mix and Match

Mixing and matching patterns can achieve the desired effect of making a property stand out when carried out correctly. Patterns that are tonally in the same colour palette can be used in harmony to add character to a room whilst also complimenting its existing features in order to create a visual balance that will catch the eye of those looking to buy on the property market. Combining and experimenting with different carpet, wallpaper and furniture patterns can be an intimidating challenge for homeowners, but is definitely an interesting way to add some summer spirit into a property.
