A Home Staging Project in Cambridge by Instant Home
As a furniture rental supplier our business divides into 2 categories, those using us to temporarily furnish their homes when relocating and those that use us for property staging projects.
As a well-established business of over 20 years, we have built solid relationships with local estate and letting agents and developers, who come to us to help furnish their properties to sell.
For these projects we always work in collaboration with a home staging specialist, as was the case on a recent project we completed in Toft, Cambridge.
We received a brief in early December, via Bidwells of Cambridge, to stage a newly built home, to make it ready to move in. This was a more unusual property in that it had one bedroom upstairs and 2 bedrooms downstairs. In order to deliver an immaculate and well thought through interior design, we enlisted the services of Dressing Homes, an experienced property styling and home staging business.
Bidwells provided us with floor plans whilst Dressing Homes visited the property to view the colour scheme used in the flooring, tiles and kitchen units, so that the proposed design layout would enhance and compliment the property’s style.  Dressing Homes and the developer also agreed the purpose of each room and how they wanted potential buyers to view this property.
The outcome of this was to make the bedroom at the front into a study with sofa bed. Then the largest ground floor room, to the rear of the property, into a double bedroom and finally upstairs, the master bedroom with en-suite.
This solution gave the property the versatility to attract families, professionals and people who are downsizing.
Following the initial planning stages Dressing Homes were then able to select furniture from the Instant Home range, that worked with the design vision to reflect the time of the year and appeal to the target audience.
Dressing Homes supplied all the accessories such as linen, cushions, throws, artwork and mirrors, accent lighting, towels, rugs and light shades.  In this case, window dressing such as blinds and curtains were not to be included in this scheme.
When staging a property for sale there is often tight time constraints, to furnish and then sell as quickly as possible.
This particular property was staged within a couple of weeks of build completion, with the furniture hire agreement for just 2 months. We are delighted to say that this property had an offer before the end of the furniture hire contract expired, a successful conclusion for all parties involved Bidwells, Dressing Homes and ourselves.
