Interior design news at HOME DECOR 2020
Everyone who professionally deals with interiors was present at the Home Decor 2020 Interior Trade Fair which took place in PoznaÅ„, Poland. This event is visited every year by over 20,000 visitors from several dozen countries and is one of the most important exhibitions in Poland trends in decorations and interior design. Home Decor is an important meeting of the home interior and decorative industries – producers, importers, distributors and wholesalers of articles for decoration and interior design.
Home Decor is a platform for establishing relationships between manufacturers and distributors as well as bloggers, designers and interior architects. On display were new collections of standing and wall decorations, lighting, textiles, ceramics, glass and other decorative elements. One of the highlights of the exhibition was the Bloggers’ Zone. This initiative led by a group of thought-leading interior design bloggers and interior designers who were debating the latest trends in the industry. The exhibition also featured the series “Breakfasts with Brands”, which was an opportunity for architects, designers and bloggers to learn about the latest innovations by interior design brands in a relaxed, more personal atmosphere. The trade fairs in Poznan and Warsaw were busy planning many more events related to the design industry but this was put on hold by the COVID-19 virus.
The current crisis will represent a major challenge for many furniture manufacturers, designers and other professionals related to the interior design industry. For the last few weeks, the whole industry held its breath. But is it really on hold? I recently participated in a very interesting webinar organised by the Home Staging Association which shared the views of several property experts and home staging professionals.
Their takeaway was that current events will serve as a catalyst for the industry to move online and use new virtual tools. Social media, in particular, will play an important role. Everyone will be forced to reinvent themselves. The industry must open its mind and move into the digital age. It is an opportunity for home stagers to promote themselves in the virtual world by writing blogs, sharing ideas, planning new trends and using video and live streams. These changes will be beneficial for the entire industry and are there to stay, even after our fight against the virus will have been successful.
