This late 19th century, Grade II Listed, family house needed some decluttering, tidying up and decorating. We were working around the family which were still living in the property so made sure there wasn’t too much disruption to their day to day lives. We paid particular attention to the kitchen and were conscious that any purchaser would want to replace the kitchen and create an open plan space. The kitchen was dark and dated so to attract buyers we painted the walls and cabinetry in a lighter colour.
We worked with the homeowner to ensure every room had the attention it needed. We moved furniture around to see where it best fit and we introduced accessories where necessary. It was important to make minimal changes to the children’s rooms, one of the main changes we made was hiding the brightly coloured duvet with a clean white bedspread and throw.
The property was launched to the market on the Monday and by the Thursday a sale had been agreed at the asking price.
The vendors spent just 0.5% of the property’s guide price – a small investment for maximum impact.
